Another low budget feature film hits the screens

October 15, 2003

The emergence of digital video means that independent filmmakers can remain just that - independent. A crop of low-budget feature films is surfacing right now and one recent example is 'Losers Lounge,' the latest achievement by Indianapolis low-budget Avant-garde filmmaker Don Boner, whose prior works include the short films 'Ripple,' 'The Bumbling Detective,' and 'Welcome to Kentuckiana'.

'Losers Lounge has been released on DVD available from Boners website and will be screened on October 14 at Key Cinemas in Indianapolis as part of their Filmmakers Showcase. The movie was shoot
entirely using digital video cameras. It is 87 minutes long.

Losers Lounge is a murder mystery set in 1948 in the fictitious town of Passionville, Illinois, just South and East of Chicago. Joey Ferdinando, played by Brian Talbot, Indianapolis voice and screen actor, is an ex-cop and now works as a private eye. Captain Morgan MacPhearson, played by Indianapolis stage and screen actor Bob Charlock, canned him from the force in 1946 when he caught Joey in bed with his wife.
